Adriana Raquel Carles Rojas took office as new a member of the Board of Directors of the Superintendency of Banks of Panama (SBP), at the Office of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, H.E. Héctor Alexander.
The Executive Branch appointed the new member of the board, by means of Executive Decree 20 dated 1 July 2022 and will replace Dr. Nicolás Ardito Barletta, who recently completed his term in this entity.
Carles Rojas will be a member of the Board of Directors of the Superintendency of Banks for an eight-year period.
According to Article 10 of Executive Decree 52 dated 30 April 2008 “which adopts the consolidated text of Decree Law 9 dated 26 February 1998, amended by Decree Law 2 dated 22 February 2008” the members of the board of directors will remain in their positions for a period of eight years, renewable once only for an equal term.
