Amauri A. Castillo, Superintendent of Banks of Panama, attended the CVI Meeting of the Board of Directors of the Association of Supervisors of Banks of the Americas (ASBA), held on April 25 and 26, 2023.
During the meeting, the following topics of interest were discussed: Banking digital transformation, regional impact, macroeconomic situation, recent changes in European regulations: reasons and objectives, supervisory practices for assessing banks’ business models.
ASBA’s mission is to contribute to strengthening banking regulations and supervision, as well as the stability of the financial system in the region. It aims to promote the implementation of practices aligned with internationally recognized standards, using analysis, cooperation, training, and dialogue mechanisms.
