The Volunteer Committee of the Superintendency of Banks of Panama celebrated “Good Deeds Day” with various activities, including the creation of the school garden and a self-sustaining chicken coop at Centro Educativo Multigrado Las Zanguengas, located in the community of Las Zanguengas, Panama Oeste.
Additionally, volunteers had the opportunity to conduct financial education workshops for parents, educators, and children at the educational center, providing tips on saving and reusing resources.
With the goal of contributing to the healthy diet of the student community, volunteers, with the support of parents and educators, prepared the land for developing a self-sustaining garden, planted crops, donated chickens, and provided supplies to create the chicken coop.
Throughout the day, community members were educated about the importance of good financial education for the success of this sustainable project, which will ultimately benefit their own children.
The event concluded with a pleasant lunch and dynamic activities for the children and young people in the area.
Other “good deeds” performed by volunteers on this significant day included the preparation, packaging, and distribution of food, as well as cleaning at the “Comedor Solidario Santa María del Camino,” located in Ciudad Radial, Juan Díaz. Volunteers also participated in the collection, classification, cleaning, and stacking of recyclable materials at “FAS Panamá,” Clayton.
