During the Ordinary Meeting of the General Assembly of the Central American Council of Banking, Insurance, and Other Financial Institution Superintendents (CCSBSO), held in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, from December 4 to 6, 2024, the Superintendent of Banks of Panama, Milton Ayón Wong, assumed the Vice Presidency of this important regional organization.
The Assembly addressed various key topics concerning financial regulation and supervision in Central America. It included a series of technical presentations and discussions addressing the progress and challenges faced by the regional financial system, particularly in the context of technological innovation and digital transformation.
These sessions facilitated the exchange of experiences and best practices among supervisors and financial authorities across the region, aiming to strengthening cooperation and progress toward a more innovative and sustainable financial system.
The Ordinary Assembly Meeting also marked the launch of the Regional Green Taxonomy, a strategic initiative led by the CCSBSO to promote sustainability in the financial sectors of its member countries.
Superintendent Ayón was joined by Luis Barahona, Director of Financial Conglomerate Supervision, and Kathy de Guardia, Director of International Affairs and Projects, both of whom actively participated in the discussions and technical workshops.
