The Board of Directors of the Superintendency of Banks of Panama (SBP) has appointed directors Rafael Guardia Pérez and Adriana Raquel Carles as Chairperson and Secretary of the board, respectively.
These appointments are for a one (1) year term, effective from December 16, 2024, until December 15, 2025, as established in Resolution SBP-JD-R-2024-00652, dated November 19, 2024.
The SBP Board of Directors serves as the highest advisory, regulatory, and policy-making body for the country's banking regulator.
Among its responsibilities is the authority to determine, at the administrative level, the interpretation and scope of legal or regulatory provisions related to banking matters.
